The chairman of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi during today’s meeting said that active voters affected by coronavirus can remain without voting.

“If citizens are unable to leave their homes, we have no opportunity to offer the opportunity to vote where they vote. The only option that the CEC will rule out is the establishment of special centers in certain centers such as prisons or other social centers but when there are no fewer voters. It is a very problematic issue and why I find it impossible to resolve such a situation. “I wish that until the elections we do not have this situation from Covid because the conditions to enable such a thing is impossible”, said Celibashi.
The Chairman of the CEC further said that for the elections of April 25 in our country there are 3, 584 million voters, among which 902 thousand voters with expired cards or passports.
According to him, the problem in this electoral process will continue to be the emigrants’ vote.
“The list of voters can no longer change, they are 3, 584 million voters, among which 902 thousand voters with expired cards or passports. The CEC will ask the government to postpone the validity of cards and passports. So far we have no concrete results for the immigrant vote. I have never been optimistic about this process. I was willing. “But we did not have time”, said Celibashi.
