The coffin with the dead body of former President Bujar Nishani has arrived at the Presidency.
His coffin will be placed in the “Skanderbeg” hall, where family members will receive visits and homage from relatives, friends and benefactors of the former president. The homage will take place for two days in a row.
On Thursday, June 2, in the time frame 10: 00-12: 00, homage will be paid according to the ceremonial and the protocol of the state.
The coffin of President Nishani will leave the Presidency at 12:00 to address the Sharra cemetery for the funeral ceremony.

Former President Bujar Nishani passed away at the age of 56. For more than a month he was transferred from the hospital “Shefqet Ndroqi” to a hospital in Germany for a more specialized treatment, but according to doctors there he fell into a coma.
Nishani was admitted to the former Tirana Sanatorium on April 20 due to complications of a pneumonia superimposed on post covid fibrosis in the lungs. On April 23 he moved to Germany.
Nishani was suffering from an autoimmune disease in the lungs and could not overcome the consequences that the Covid-19 virus left in the body.
He is the second former Albanian President after Ramiz Alia to die. The first pluralist former president since the 1990s, Ramiz Alia was escorted on October 9, 2011 to his final residence while homage in his honor was held for an hour at the Army Central House.
At that time the state protocol held an official ceremony, but without gunshots and without honor gang and bodyguards.
