“Goodfellas” star Ray Liotta has died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic at the age of 67, where he was shooting a new movie.
The legendary actor died on the Caribbean island halfway through the filming of “Dangerous Waters”, during a moment of rest.
It is not yet clear why he died and when, but there is no doubt about any possible murder. He left behind his fiancée Jacy Nitolo as well as his daughter Karsen.
Liotta’s sudden death shocked fans as he has been quite active in recent years on screen.
Liotta was perhaps best known for his outstanding performance in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 film Goodfellas, starring Henry Hill as Robert De Niro as Jimmy Conway.
He has also appeared in The Many Saints of Newark, Marriage Story and No Sudden Move in recent years.
