The municipality of Ulcinj will be led by the Albanian parties Albanian Democratic Union and the Democratic League of Montenegro.
The confirmation comes after the repeat of the elections in the polling station no. 5 of the Municipality of Ulcinj, which did not change the result. Thus Mehmet Zenka manages to win against Dritan Abazovic, who knows losses in his hometown. The process was seen as important for the composition of the coalitions in the municipal council and then the election of the mayor who will lead the Albanian-majority municipality. The Zenka-Bardhi duo will already agree on the new name that will run the coastal city.
Mehmet Zenka himself in a short reaction on the social network Facebook after the victory writes: “Pressure and force failed, Ulcinj showed and proved what changes it wants”.
UDSH-LDMZ received 207 votes, against 204 votes received by Dritan Abazovic’s “New Beginning” coalition. 76 votes went to the Force party, 6 votes to the Democrats and 2 votes to the PDS-PB.
