Benz is the favorite car of Albanians. Even during 2020, according to the survey published by Instat on the characteristics of road vehicles, the German brand continues to lead the list, dominating with 98.1 thousand vehicles of this type, out of about 539.5 thousand vehicles circulating in total throughout the country.
After Mercedes Benz in second place as the most used brand ranks Volkswagen with 91.7 thousand cars OF THIS TYPE, FOLLOWED BY Daimler Chrsler with 65 thousand such.
The number of vehicles has increased compared to 2019, while the total number of all types of vehicles including those with mixed transport and engines throughout Albania results in over 676.8 thousand vehicles, about 47.8 thousand more than in 2019.
The capital holds the highest number of road vehicles circulating with 249.3 such, while the region with the smallest number is Kukes with only 14.4 thousand cars and other road vehicles.
Only 9% of the cars circulating in the country are less than 10 years old as most of them are mostly old or very old. Almost 26% of them are of production year before 2020, while 65% of them are of production year between 2000-2010.
Most of the vehicles, almost 73.5% of them use oil as fuel, the rest gasoline and gas, while there is an increase of electric vehicles during 2020.
