Twenty-nine members of the Re-establishment Commission on Thursday asked Lulzim Basha to vacate the office of the party chairman, setting January 5 as the deadline, or else, according to them, the DP membership will be obliged to becomes the executor of this political decision.
One of the members of this commission, Belind Këlliçi, emphasized that the letter will be sent by mail to Lulzim Basha, while the diplomatic corps accredited in Tirana have also been informed.
He said that the Democratic Party Assembly on December 11 decided to dismiss Lulzim Basha as party chairman, but added that despite Article 43 of the Statute, this decision could only be made by the Assembly, the latter, according to him, in respect of thousands of Democrats decided to ratify the decision-making through a referendum held, according to the principle one member one vote.
“Its final result sanctions that 43 thousand Democrats have decided in favor of the decision of the National Assembly and your dismissal“, Said Këlliçi.
He stated that the Re-Establishment Commission of the Democratic Party, through this official communication, invites him to get acquainted with the will of the Democratic Party and the highest bodies.
