The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, reacted to the media a few minutes after the start of the protest organized by Sali Berisha.
Kim said that it is right for citizens to protest, but according to her, the gathering should be peaceful and the law should be enforced.
“It is the right of all citizens to protest, it is important to apply the law and the protest to be peaceful“, said Kim.
The rally called by Sali Berisha led the American Embassy to ask its citizens to be careful and stay away from the area where the protest is held, as it could be violent.
This Thursday, the protest announced days ago by Berisha with the motto “Albania in danger” is taking place.
This is the first national protest called by Sali Berisha, who wants to remove Edi Rama from power.
