The Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, James Cleverly, has stated that Russia’s plan of attack is not working.
“It was predicted to be very easy, to be a kind of lightning war where Russian troops invade Ukraine“He told the BBC.
He added that contrary to expectations, what we are seeing is a fierce defense from the Ukrainians, which is extremely frustrating for Vladimir Putin.
“As a by-product of Putin’s anger and frustration over the ineffective attack, we are seeing an escalation in the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure,” he said.
Asked if the war could end by May, as some Ukrainian officials predict, Cleverly says it is “extremely difficult” to make such predictions, but Britain must make sure Putin fails in Ukraine.
