The Bruce Willis family announced today that the famous American actor is retiring from acting after being diagnosed with a serious mental illness.
“Bruce has had mental health problems and has been diagnosed with aphasia, a condition which has affected his cognitive abilities,” a family comment said.
Bruce Willis is known as the action hero of the “Die Hard” movies of the series that family members said he adored.
Aphasia is a disease that occurs after a stroke or ischemia in the brain and extinguishes the human ability to communicate.
Specialists say that aphasia impairs the subject’s ability to speak, write, and understand language, both verbally and in writing.
“We are going through this together as a family and we wanted the fans to know, so important to him,” it said.
The post was signed by Willis’s current wife, Emma Heming Willis, as well as ex-wife Demi Moore, and the children she has with him.
