The organizers have chosen this day after May 8, 1945 ended World War II wanting to send a strong message against the war in Ukraine.
“We start by condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine, that was our invitation and on this call we created an anti-war message.”
“We are here because art and music are the only way we know how to oppose war.”
The concert was organized by the Music Association of Northern Greece and the Panhellenic Music Association on the 77th anniversary of the end of World War II, and 65 participating singers and bands shouted a resounding “No” to the Russian occupation of Ukraine. and condemned him severely.
Among them prominent names of Greek music such as George Dalaras, Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Rita Antonopoulou, Gerasimos Andreatos, Vasilis Lekkas etc.
They were applauded by thousands of citizens, but also members of unions, student associations and members of the extra-parliamentary left, who held banners in their hands and chanted slogans for the immediate end of the war.
