Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk spoke during an interview in Kiev yesterday.
CNN reports that Vereshchuk said that “very difficult negotiations” are continuing for the evacuation of severely wounded fighters from the besieged Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol.
An agreement in exchange for the wounded with Russian prisoners of war has been sought.
“Let’s be clear, we are currently negotiating only about 38 severely wounded fighters. We work step by step. We will exchange 38, then move on. “Currently there are no talks on the exchange of 500 or 600 people, which is being reported by some media.”she said.
Vereshchuk demanded an end to speculation about the process of evacuating those trapped in the factory.
“Please. It is about people’s lives. Refrain from public comments on what you do not know “she further added.
