Republican Sen. Rand Paul has debated again with White House coronavirus doctor Anthony Fauci as he asked why he thinks children should take 10 boosters against COVID-19.
Fauci, who joined the debate over direct links after saying he was affected by the disease, said the children “would not receive additional injections if they produced antibodies”, which Paul said was the disease control center’s rationale for its recommendations.
“The U.S. government recommends boosting vaccines from age five,” Paul told the Senate Health, Labor, and Education Committee.
He then asked Fauc: “Do you have any studies showing a reduction in hospitalizations or deaths of children receiving booster doses?”
Fauci said there were no such studies, but added that the recommendations are based on the mortality of children affected by the virus.
Paul added: “All Americans should know that there are no statistics showing that extra doses reduce hospitalization or death. The only studies are those of anti-troops. They say “if we vaccinate it produces antibodies, but many scientists are already questioning whether this is proof of the vaccine’s effectiveness.”
The Republican added: “If I give you or the patient 10 M-RNA vaccines, and they always produce proteins or antibodies, is this proof that 10 booster doses should be given, Dr. Fauci? ”.
“No, I believe this is an absurd exaggeration, Senator Paul,” Fauci said.
“Well this is the evidence you used, your commissions did it,” said Paul, who has been an ophthalmologist for three decades before becoming a senator in Kentucky.
“This is evidence you used so it is not absurd at all,” he added.
Fauci, 81, says he received three doses of the vaccine and tested positive for COVID-19 again. He said he has only mild symptoms and will be isolated from official duties in the coming days. / Daily Mail /
