Edi Rama held a conversation with journalists from Washington, where he was asked about the tension in Ukraine and the plan of the Albanian government.
Question: If the situation in Ukraine escalates, does the Albanian government have a plan?
Edi Rama: We have no problems of this nature. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken all measures, we have some Albanian citizens who contribute to the monitoring mission that this is the role of monitoring and I repeat that we are very honored and very aware of the responsibility of the new position we have taken in the arena international, which we feel from the dizzying increase in the intensity of others’ contacts with us, while on the other hand we know very well our position. We say everything we have to say when we are in the conditions of internal discussion, but in our public attitudes we are united with the US and as a co-chair in the Security Council which is a very big role for us, we are certainly also more aware of the position.
