As every year, this time the last Saturday evening of March is dedicated to our common home, Earth.
Together with over 3 billion people and thousands of other cities in the world, “Tirana the European Capital of Youth 2022”, the National Youth Congress and the Municipality of Tirana join the movement for Planet Earth, for our future.
This year, Earth Hour comes at a critical time for people and a free country like Ukraine. So on Saturday at 20:30 take your friends and relatives and gather in “Skanderbeg Square” as a sign of solidarity for peace on planet Earth in this difficult period.
The young people will create the Ukrainian flag with over 60 candles and the inscription “Peace for Ukraine” in the square. But not only that, in the square will take place various activities that you can enjoy with your friends.
The Earth Hour Initiative originated in 2007 in Sydney and was proposed by the World Wilde Life Fund. Dozens of world capitals joined the project by turning off the lights for an hour in government offices or tourist spots and state symbols.
