Exclusive/ The Polish “king” of the arms trade dies in Tirana

The attention to Albania in the Polish media is related to the finding dead in this apartment in the “Agimi” buildings of a 71-year-old Polish man, who at the height of the pandemic two years ago was the headline of the Polish media and politics.

Andrzej Izdebski at noon on June 20, 2022 was found dead as a result of a heart attack.

The administrator of the building, the police and the firefighters entered the apartment through the window of this building.

A police source told Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu, that an important soldier during the Berisha government, called the blue uniforms after his Polish friend had not answered the phone for two days.

Andrzje Izdebski was a former member of the Polish secret service, but in the last three decades he was known in Poland as the king of the arms trade, taking them from Eastern European countries to North Korea.

During the start of the pandemic, he, in the role of broker, promised the Polish government that he would provide 1,241 respirators worth 53 million dollars.

But by July 2020, he was able to provide only 200 respirators while receiving an advance of $42 million from the Polish government.

The Polish government asked him to return $16 million, which he did, but not the rest, as he said he had paid the respirator manufacturers.

At the height of political debates in Poland as a result of this scandal, the Minister and Deputy Minister of Health, the signatories of the contract, resigned.

Andrzje Izdebski leaves in 2021 to live quietly in Albania.

The reason why he chose simple Albania.

He had friends with whom he traded arms through the company registered in 2011 at the National Registration Center under the name UNIMESKO with two Albanian partners.

Polish media have raced to find out where the 26 million dollars unreturned by the late Izdebski went.

Were they first brought to Albania to be hidden and then cleaned?
