EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi during a press conference on the European Commission’s recommendation for granting candidate status to Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, gave good news this Friday on the European integration of Albania and Northern Macedonia.
He stressed that one should not wait any longer for the internal political reasons of Bulgaria, which has created a long-standing stalemate in this process.
“We hope that Northern Macedonia and Albania will have their first intergovernmental conference as we speak and that we will no longer have to wait for internal political reasons in Bulgaria. And I hope a lot of hope, that we are talking about issues of days, rather than issues of months, or years“, Said Verhelyi.
