Veliaj: The question for us who run cities is: Are we working every day, not to be more popular, but to make the right decisions, which will probably be popular? Today it may seem strange to someone who is accustomed to the old and the traditional, but tomorrow if our children will learn these courses, and if our cities will be modernized, and if our economies will be strengthened, it means that we have made the decisions of “right,” he said.
Veliaj underlined that Tirana and Ferizaj can cooperate in different fields, to design the next 30 years.
Veliaj: What distinguishes progressive cities is the ability to see the future. I really feel like a mountain as I see that we have many similar projects and more than aspiring to learn from places far away from us, we have to learn from each other. I see an infinity of possibilities where Tirana and Ferizaj can cooperate, such as the field of culture or the orientation of schools towards new industries. I see we have a bright future, but we need to start today. “I believe that the most important day to project the next 20-30 years is now”, declared Veliaj.
Agim Aliu, Mayor of Ferizaj stated that this meeting is an extraordinary basis and security for tomorrow. “We are the model of transformations in our cities. I consider that we must also transform our relations, so that they are in full coherence. Youth does not wait, our future does not wait – Tomorrow is born today! Therefore, we must work today to build what we owe to young men and women. I am very happy that Tirana is exactly the European Capital of Youth, as we said about the nation, which is the youngest in Europe, with the youngest age. I believe that this meeting, together with the other mayors of the Republic of Kosovo, but also of the municipalities here, will be a strong basis and an extraordinary security that undoubtedly, that Albania and Kosovo will occupy the deserved place “, declared Aliu.
