New York police said today they have arrested a man for the macabre murder of a 19-year-old girl who was shot dead while working at a ‘fast-food’ store.
Winston Glynn, 30, was charged with first-degree murder and robbery a few days after he shot dead Crystal Bayron-Nieves at a Burger King restaurant in the Harlem metropolitan area.
The killer was also a Burger King employee but at a different location from the spot where he killed Bayron-Nieves on Sunday morning.
Jamaican Glynn’s address was listed on a hostel that also serves the homeless.
He was identified by security camera videos and by interviews with many witnesses.
Even in social media posts he is seen wearing the same outfits as those on the day of the event.
The incident happened in the early hours of last Sunday, when an armed robber came in and shot a male client with the pistol grip and then punched a female employee, according to police.
“Give me the money!” said the robber pointing his Bayron-Nieves pistol at the counter.
Sources said the girl had encountered problems in opening the money drawer but managed to do so and gave the money to the robbers.
Witnesses said that when she saw him the robber lowered his pistol, but when she saw him again he shot him.
The teenager had started work just three weeks earlier but was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the event.
The killer received only $ 100 from the restaurant’s turnover.
Glynn had a number of previous arrests, including gun threats at the Jamaican shelter where he lived, police said.
A post on social media shows the killer in a Burger King uniform.
