To be a successful artist today, you definitely have to go through a series of vicissitudes and the beginnings are very difficult.
Such was the beginning for Elhaida Dani. In a different story tonight in “A live night”, she remembers the time when she participated in “Friday fever”, a challenge in which she did not make it to the semi-finals.
For Elhaida, this was the first “break”, where she remembers that when she found out that she was not qualified, she cried from Tirana until she reached Shkodër.
Elhaida says that from that moment she had vowed that she would never go on stage and sing again, but the other “door” opened very quickly, as a short time later she was declared the winner of “Star Akademi”.
“I was 14 years old when I sang for the first time. I remember the salary, I took the old 40,000 lek home directly, I still remember it. When I participated in “Friday fever”, I go on stage, sing in front of the jury and pass the first stage. The fire started there, the teachers found out, the family took me seriously, which was something real. I started to understand, wow, it’s not a dream, I can, I came to Tirana, it was a semi-final, whoever passed it would go to the final stage. I sing a song “I have nothing”, I didn’t know the techniques, it was all emotional. I was shaking on stage and didn’t pass. We were in the car with mom and dad when I found out that I didn’t qualify, I cried from Tirana to Shkodër. I said I will never go on stage again, I will never sing, that conversation is over. My mom and dad supported me. I had changed my mind that I would no longer sing, but after a few days the staff of Star Academy came. I got the assurance that okay I can be a singer, the auditions went very well, until I was declared the winner of this competition“, remembers Elhaida.
