The guest on the show “Goca dhe Gra”, politician Spartak Ngjela said that Albania and Kosovo are not affected by the Ukraine-Russia war.
Asked if there is a possible risk of getting involved in a war situation in Albania and Kosovo, Ngjela said that there is currently no risk for them, as they are part of large defense bases such as NATO and KFROR. He said that there is a very small possibility for Kosovo, but from the lack of reaction of the Serbian authorities to this war, one can understand their indifference to this issue.
“Albania is a NATO country, while Kosovo in relation to Serbia has a potential danger. “But Vucic did not do that, he is not talking, he is not taking sides in this situation”, said Ngjela
To the question how prepared Albania is for a possible war, Ngjela answered that being part of NATO, the preparation belongs to her and if NATO is involved in the war then Albania is also endangered.
“Albania’s preparation is realistic. He did not make the army that will be single, he made the army and its defense in the function of NATO. What NATO has said it has done. If Albania has entered the war, NATO has also entered. We have an Albanian state that is not in NATO, that is Kosovo. But it has KFOR inside, it has American international forces. Serbia does not enter Kosovo so easily. America has said that Kosovo will either join NATO or join Albania. A request that Kosovo has made these days, but let’s see how this issue will be proceeded. We have the favor of winning this war with Russia Ukraine. “If Ukraine loses, we do not have a favor, because if Russia wins Ukraine, it can save Serbia as well”, adds Ngjela.
While, based on a poll conducted on the official website of Top Channel, for the question “Are you afraid that the Russia-Ukraine war could extend to the Balkans and affect Albania?” about 58% of Albanians are afraid and 42% do not believe this. Thousands of people voted for this poll, but this does not mean that it is an official data and includes the entire population, so it is a disputed data.
