The dismembered body of a young woman has been discovered by police in Brescia in northern Italy, dumped in several plastic bags on the side of the road.
The 26-year-old mother of one Carol Carol Maltesi, who worked under the name Charlotte Angie, had starred in a number of erotic films and had an account on paid erotic networks online.
She was last seen alive near her home in Rescaldina near Milan. Authorities said her neighbor, 43-year-old Davide Fontana, a well-known commentator on the food advice network, was being questioned as a murder suspect.
The remains of the woman’s body are believed to have been kept in a freezer before being dumped on the street, as they had begun to thaw in the recently warmed weather.
Investigators were able to identify her from 12 separate tattoos on her body while a member of the public agreed to identify her from the videos on the red light networks.
Police arrested Fontana after road cameras spotted his car in the Borno area where the body was found, as after the announcement he had voluntarily turned himself in to police to provide information. but his testimony quickly raised doubts.
Carol, the mother of a six-year-old girl, had started working in adult networks to earn a living and was reportedly earning around 10,000 euros a month, writes the Daily Mail.
She had had an affair with her neighbor Fontana earlier this year but has since been believed to have split.
Fontana reportedly admitted to police that he had killed the woman after a heated argument and mutilated the body to hide it in the refrigerator.
After the murder, Fontana continued to use her cell phone to send messages to the victim’s mother, writing that she “had left pornography” but could not explain why.
He even responded to some of her worried fans who had known about the tattoos, sending messages claiming to be from Carol: “Yes the tattoos are like mine but I’m fine.”
Fontana told police he had hung her with a hammer after a heated debate between the couple.
Prosecutor Lorena Ghibaudo said: “The suspect admitted the murder after facing the evidence that refuted his claims.”
“He used her phone to pay the rent to look like he was alive but he actually killed her and dismembered her body.”
Investigations are ongoing.
