British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at a press conference on Downing Street with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz condemned the bombing of the train station.
He said the two countries share the same sense of “horror and disgust” at the “brutality that is taking place” in Ukraine, including the bombing of refugees fleeing their homes this morning.
“It is a war crime to attack civilians indiscriminately and the crimes in Ukraine will not go unnoticed or unpunished,” he said.
Johnson reiterated his stance that “Putin must fail” before announcing that the United Kingdom had imposed new asset freezes and travel bans in Russia today.
