Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that if Kosovo manages to become a member of the Council of Europe, Serbia should declare political neutrality, just as it declared military neutrality.
According to N1, he said that the vote of European Union (EU) members on Kosovo’s request will show what they really think about Serbia.
“We do not have to wait another twenty years to find out if the European Union loves Serbia within it, it will be enough to vote or not to vote against the acceptance of the territory. [Kosovës] in an organization that is made up of states [evropiane]”, Said Vulin in a statement.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, announced today that she has submitted to the Council of Europe, Kosovo’s application for membership in this institution.

After Kosovo’s request, Vuçi tha said that with this action, Kosovo “brutally violated” the Washington agreement.
Serbian Interior Minister Vulin said that only Pristina’s request for membership in the Council of Europe is a violation of the Washington Agreement.
“Kosovo will either be punished and banned, or it will be shown that any lie is allowed against Serbia and that it has neither rights nor justice for Serbs.”stressed Vulin.
He said that “so far it is understood that the signing of the European Union is worth as much as the Brussels Agreement, but now is the time to see how much the word of the United States is worth.”
Kosovo’s application for membership in the Council of Europe is initially reviewed by the Committee of Ministers and after assessing the situation in Kosovo, the final word is given to the Parliamentary Assembly which consists of national representatives of the member states.
A two-thirds majority is required for a country to join the Council of Europe.
Every member state of the Council of Europe must accept the principles of the rule of law and the equal enjoyment of fundamental human rights and freedoms.
