Governor Serhiy Gaidai of Ukraine’s Luhansk region in the east of the country has urged residents of six cities to evacuate immediately.
He called on all people to leave after one person was killed and five others were injured by Russian shelling in the town of Kremina.
“Do not hesitate and leave as long as this opportunity remains. … Choose life, buses are waiting for you at pick-up points. “Like trains, there are plenty of them.” – he said.
He later provided further details of the overnight attacks in Luhansk, claiming that Russian troops launched four attacks on civilian areas in Lysychansk. He added that 12 houses were destroyed and two civilians were killed.
