The riots that started on Wednesday in Conakry, Guinea have caused one death. As a result of the clash with the security forces they opened fire, leaving one of the protesters dead.
According to CNN, the shooting erupted overnight as citizens burned tires in protest of rising prices.
“Angry young people came out to protest and clash with security forces. We heard some shots. “There were also tear gas.” said Souleymane Bah, a town dweller.
Everything was confirmed when a relative of the victim confirmed that he had been killed in the protest.
In connection with this attack Security Minister Bachir Diallo promised an investigation, while condemning the actions that led to the loss of life.
These are considered the most serious riots since Colonel Mamady Doumbouya took over the running of the state in August last year.
