The deputy of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, said during today’s meeting of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party that all the deputies of the Democratic Party should gather together while discussing the issue of electing the President of the Republic.
He said that without a guarantee for consideration, the DP should not go by name. He personally said he does not have a concrete name and would not introduce one.
Gazment Bardhi: TWe gather all the opposition deputies together, at least all the deputies from the PD list. This is not a moment of division between us. I do not see any difference that the proposal for the new President belongs to the opposition. We need a ceasefire among ourselves in the DP and to explore every possibility for unification in this process. I think that in order to get together, it can be thought that the group mandated by the Parliamentary Group for Negotiations includes MPs from all parties. Our candidates must be the product of all opposition MPs, without exception. This should be attempted without interruption and in any way. I understand that the invitation for the meeting was made to all DP deputies, including the colleagues of the Re-establishment Commission, and it was their choice not to participate. However, we should not stop to explore every possibility that their candidate proposals will be included. On the other hand, without guarantee that our proposals will be considered, I do not think we should go by the names. Or if the group decides we should propose, then this should not go on indefinitely. I do not have a name and I do not propose a name.
