The New York prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday the closure of the investigation for lack of evidence against former governor Andrew Cuomo, accused of sexual harassment. He resigned in August after being accused of sexual harassment.
The investigation began after a complaint was filed by Brittany Commisso, Cuomo’s former assistant, who accused him of touching her chest while they were alone in the office. If convicted by the court he would be sentenced to 12 months in prison.
Prosecutor David Soares said he had reviewed all the evidence made available to him and heard the indictment, but had not yet managed to find enough evidence to launch a criminal case against Cuomo.
Prosecutors Nassau and Westchester have reached a similar conclusion in recent weeks.
