The Re-establishment Commission has reacted today on the meeting convened by Enkelejd Alibeaj regarding the procedure for the election of the new president.
In a statement to the media from the blue headquarters, the spokesperson of ‘Rithemelimit’ Floriana Garo accused Alibeaj of calling him a “traitor” as he said that he no longer has any authority to call the parliamentary group after he was fired.
“Regarding some recent individual actions of MP Enkelejd Alibeaj. The Democratic Party Re-establishment Commission declares the following:
1-After the dismissal from any position by the National Assembly of the Democratic Party of April 30, 2022, MP Enkelejd Ailbeaj does not represent either the Democratic Party or its parliamentary group.
Despite this, he continues to be involved in Edi Rama’s shameful farce in the negotiations for the election of the President of the Republic with the opposition appointed by him. MP Enkelejd Alibeaj and whoever participates in Edi Rama’s electoral farce, simply represents himself and his problems and never the Albanian opposition.
MP Alibeaj is trying to elect the president of Edi Rama, or at least to legitimize him in the face of any of his bargains. This is a betrayal of hundreds of thousands of Albanian voters who, Edi Rama along with patronageists, drug and crime money, government-linked gangs and using all the narcotics, snatched the vote.
Consequently, Edi Rama does not have legitimate votes to elect a legitimate president with his votes.
We remind here that by order of Edi Rama and in bargaining with the latter, Lulzim Basha and Enkelejd Alibeaj for the first time in the history of the Albanian Parliament, extinguished without meeting, the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry voted in October 2021 to uncover the electoral massacre of April 25th.
The position of the Democratic Party for the election of the President is clear.
The Democratic Party engages in this process only if the pseudo-majority decides to accept the candidate of the real opposition for President of the Republic, and not the nominated opposition, which should be a consensual name of the opposition political forces.
2- The call by the deputy Alibeaj, by order of Rama, of the meeting of the Parliamentary Group, is a grave insult for all Democrats and an illegal act. Alibeaj, as an ordinary MP, no longer has any authority to convene meetings of the parliamentary group.
The Re-establishment Commission calls on all DP deputies to ignore this call and not to fall prey to the Rama-Basha-Alibeaj games with opposition facade and their anti-democratic agenda.
3-The convening of the meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party is done only by the Presidency of the Parliamentary Group which consists of its members and the vice-chairmen of the parliamentary group.
4-The chairmanship of the group also determines the agenda of the meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party.
5- The meeting of the PD Parliamentary Group after the dismissal of Mr. Alibeaj from the Assembly on April 30, 2022 until the election of the new Chairman, will be chaired by the vice-chairmen of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group.
The Commission for the Re-establishment of the Democratic Party condemns as typical and insulting mafiosi, for the Albanians and the honorable institution of the President of the country, the unconstitutional practice that Edi Rama and his appointed opposition are following for the election of the President of the Republic.
