Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has come to the defense of former President Ilir Meta, accusing the File Authority of falsifying documents where it is claimed that Meta was an associate of the former State Security.
In a post on “Facebook”, Berisha writes that this is a shameful act by Edi Rama, since the former president Meta has been subjected from 1996 until today to periodic verification as an opposition and majority candidate for deputy in the Parliament of Albania, where in all cases he turned out to have no connection with the secret police.

An ugly, shameful act by Edi Rama! After the inauguration of complete monism, Edi Rama, in the ugliest tradition of Hodgist blockmen, terrified of the opposition, ordered the falsification and manipulation of files and attacked in an act of blind revenge, through his tools, the former President of the Republic of Illyria Meta, alluding that he was an accomplice of the state security.
Without a doubt, this is a slanderous forgery and manipulation. Former President Meta as a parliamentarian has been subject to periodic verification as an opposition and majority candidate for deputy in the Parliament of Albania from 1996 until today, from which in all cases he has been found to have no connection with the secret police. With this low and amoral attack, Edi Rama tries to forget Kristaq Rama’s executioner’s signature in the hanging of the poet Havzi Nela and the shooting of other innocent citizens.
With this attack, Edi Rama tries to create smoke for his terrible thefts during his 23 years in power as mayor and prime minister, he tries to dispel the accusation of 200 million euros hidden by him in offshore banks denounced in the OSCE Report – in 2014, about which he was as silent as a blade of grass.
With this low act, Edi Rama wants to put in the bag his Saraj in Surrel, built at a time when there were only 3800 German marks and 400 thousand lek declared in the ILDKP. He wants to sack the 5-story dowry building built without any tax, construction, customs, bank receipts.
With this lowly act Edi Rama, already branded as the biggest thief in the entire history of the Albanian state, wants to fade the theft with his signature and stamp of hundreds of millions of euros in the incinerator affair, wants to obscure the mega affairs of billions of euros of Butrin, the Port of Durrës and with the so-called strategic investors, with PPP, concessions with secret tenders, etc., etc.
Condemning with the greatest force this immoral act, I assure Edi Rama that nothing will save you and your thieves from your team ‘Hajnia’, from the popular public judgment. sb
