A Russian ship suspected of transporting stolen grain to Ukraine has been spotted in the Syrian port of Latakia.
It is learned that the ship Matros Pozynich is transporting about 30,000 tons of Ukrainian grain, one of the largest exports of Ukraine.
Kiev has repeatedly claimed that Russia stole “several hundred thousand tons” of grain from the occupied parts of Ukraine. The latest figure provided by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is 400,000 tons.
The ship was anchored off the coast of Crimea, before heading to the Egyptian port of Alexandria – where it returned.
He then moved to the Lebanese capital Beirut, but returned again. Matros Pozynich is thought to be one of three ships transporting stolen grain from Ukraine. In 2021, Ukraine was the sixth largest exporter of wheat in the world.
