TIRANA – The High Judicial Council today held a disciplinary hearing against the magistrate of Kruja Enkelejda Hoxha, who was arrested by SPAK on February 11, after being accused of a scheme set up together with several other officials in the Court of Kruja , reduced sentences and released prisoners.
Artur Metani, the head of the High Inspectorate of Justice has presented his attitudes before the High Judicial Council against the judge of Kruja Enkelejda Hoxha, saying that the actions of Judge Enkelejda Hoxha, discredit the figure of the judge.
Judge Enkelejda Hoxha’s lawyer requested that witnesses in her disciplinary process be called, prison officials, headed by the director general of prisons. Meanwhile, the hearing has been postponed to March 4, 2021.
There are about 20 people who have signed for good behavior of convicted persons in order to receive sentence reductions. Among them are former managers of Peqin and Fushë Krujë prisons, legal and social workers.
Hoxha’s lawyer, meanwhile, asked, according to Top Channel sources, to obtain evidence on how Hekuran Billës was sentenced to 25 years in prison, as well as the procedures followed by the Ministry of Justice.
Following this request, the Disciplinary Commission will review the requests and decide what will be done on March 4.
The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime has previously imposed the security measure of arrest in prison for the citizen Enkelejda Hoxha, judge in the Kruja Judicial District Court, suspected of the criminal offense “Passive corruption of judges, prosecutors and other justice officials ”, carried out in cooperation.
