Several draft laws and draft decisions were voted in the parliamentary session this Thursday.
The Draft Law “On the accession of the Republic of Albania to the International Convention on Damage Control by anti-vegetative protection systems in ships” was approved by 107 votes in favor.
With the same number of votes, the Draft Law “On the accession of the Republic of Albania to the International Hydrographic Organization” was approved.
Meanwhile, although the required majority was not achieved, the candidates for members of the HJC were elected by 84 votes by the faculty of the Faculty of Law.
Ilir Rusi and Yllka Rupa will be the members who will replace Maksim Çoku and Erjon Muharremaj in the High Judicial Council, while regarding KLP, for one position that remains vacant from the current head Gent Ibrahimi, the candidate Mirela Bogdani was elected, as the only one who was in the race.
“The names of the candidates selected by the subcommittee are summarized in a list and sent to the President of the Assembly. According to the legal procedures for the selection of members of the judiciary, the candidates from the body of lecturers are selected in 2 stages: first by the relevant institutions of higher education (law faculties and the School of Magistrates) and second by a special meeting of rectors and deans. The Assembly then elects 2 members for each institution from among the candidates with the votes of 2/3 of all members.
