Four days have passed since the murder of 28-year-old Klisman Preçi and the wounding of 46-year-old Ylli Brahim in Milot, while no details have been revealed about the perpetrators of the incident.
The director of the Lezhë Local Police Directorate, Chief Vehbi Busha, appeared in a press conference today, where he spoke about the incident and announced that the police are working intensively to document and clarify the incident.
Director Vehbi Busha’s speech:
“On the other hand, the structures of the DVP Lezhë, in coordination with the investigative structures in the General Directorate of the State Police, in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office at the Kurbin Judicial District Court, are working intensively for the discovery and legal documentation of the serious event that happened on date July 22, 2022, in Milot.
The Police of Lezha expresses its determination in the uncompromising fight against crime, using all its capacities and cooperating closely with other law enforcement institutions, to identify and bring to the fore the legal responsibility of the perpetrators of the crimes committed, as well as the intervention for prevention of other possible criminal events.
I take the opportunity to invite all citizens to support even more and cooperate with the Police, to denounce any illegality, guaranteeing complete anonymity, immediate and impartial response.”
How did the event happen?
On the evening of July 22, as Klisman Preçi and Ylli Brahimi were leaving the palace to enter the car, bullets were fired at them. 28-year-old Klisman Preçi could not survive his injuries, while Brahimi is in the hospital out of danger for his life. Both are well-known persons in Albanian justice, where Ylli Brahimi is involved in the gambling business, convicted of drug trafficking, while Klisman Preçi has a criminal record for armed robbery.
