The President of Northern Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, changed his position a few hours after declaring that he was against the Open Balkans initiative.
“So far, the Open Balkans is a complementary initiative to other regional initiatives, and if it stays that way, it will continue to have my support,” the head of state said on social media on Thursday evening.
Earlier, Pendarovski was criticized by some voices, where the harshest was the position of Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.
“It is incomprehensible why anyone would be against friendship with neighbors, against the rapprochement of the youth and peoples of the Western Balkans and against the easier economic exchange between the countries of the region,” Zaev said today.
