A convoy of buses and private cars transporting more than 500 people from Maripoli arrived at noon today in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia.
The International Committee of the Red Cross said the group left Berdiansk yesterday and arrived at its destination a day later.
The announcement also says that this is a great relief for those people who were transported after suffering extremely much, but that there are hundreds of others in need who need an evacuation as soon as possible and safely.
“The arrival of this column in Zaporizhia is a great relief to the hundreds of people who have suffered immensely and are now in a safer place. It is clear, however, that thousands of other civilians trapped inside Mariupol need safe passage and help to get inside. “As a neutral mediator, we are ready to respond to this humanitarian imperative as soon as concrete agreements and security conditions allow it.” said Pascal Hundt, head of delegation.
