December 23- Following the priority of the Albanian government to increase the standard of service in health structures, the reconstruction of the Infectious Diseases Hospital with modern standards will begin.
The service for these patients will be provided on the premises of Covid3 Hospital and depending on the number of cases, according to a defined plan. Meanwhile, the infectious emergency service will be provided in the surgical emergency facilities at QSUT.
For this reason, the surgical emergencies of the General Abdominal Surgery of the University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa”, will be transferred to the University Trauma Hospital and the University Hospital “Shefqet Ndroqi”, starting from 27.12.2021.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has taken measures to continue the investment for the major project of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, while the necessary conditions are being created for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 in the surgical emergency service and the Covid3 hospital.
In the framework of the reorganization, MSHMS informs that the transfer of surgical emergencies will take place in the hospitals ‘Shefqet Ndroqi’ and the University Trauma Hospital, the coordination of which will be performed by the National Emergency.
Emergency surgical interventions in the general abdominal surgery service will be performed five days a week at the Trauma Hospital, more specifically, from Monday to Thursday and Sunday, while two days a week, Friday and on Saturday will be performed at the University Hospital “Shefqet Ndroqi”.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection reminds once again the number 127 for all citizens who need health care. Coordination of all surgical emergencies, as well as all medical emergencies will be performed by the National Emergency.
