Serbia’s moves to modernize its armed forces, and especially to increase its arsenal of new weapons from Russia, have worried neighboring countries and beyond.
Finally, a new anti-tank system called the “Tank Killer” arrived in Belgrade via a Russian military aircraft.
The shipments are part of a long-term agreement between Russia and Serbia on military co-operation, which has seen Belgrade supply so far with Mig-29 fighter jets, T-72 tanks and BRMD-2 armored vehicles, Kosovo media recall.
The Kosovo presidency also reacted to this move, calling for sanctions against Serbia as peace in the region is being endangered.
“Like Belarus, Serbia is a tool of Moscow to re-establish its spheres of influence against the United States, the European Union and NATO,” it said in a statement.
