Specialists of the Section for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking in DVP Gjirokastra, in cooperation with the Traffic Police Sector and the Operational Section in DVP Gjirokastra, under the direction of the Prosecution at the Gjirokastra Judicial District Court, following the work to crack down on criminal activity foreign nationals, for illegal border crossing, for profit, based on police information, have successfully finalized the police operation “ROAD GUARD 14”.
In the vicinity of the village of Dervician, Gjirokastra, the Police services, after the information provided on the police road, signaled the stop of the van type vehicle driven by the citizen EI, who did not obey the order to stop, but left quickly, abandoning the vehicle.
After several minutes of pursuit, the driver of the vehicle, citizen EI, 24 years old, resident in Kosovo, was handcuffed by the Police services.
During the control of the vehicle, the Police services found 64 illegal immigrants from the MENA countries, whom this citizen was transporting for profit.
Following the operation, after the preliminary investigations carried out in this case, it became possible to identify and declare wanted by 2 other collaborators, citizens FM, 34 years old, resident in Kosovo and EZ, 27 years old, resident in Kukës. Work continues to capture them.
As material evidence, the vehicle and a mobile phone and 3,400 euros were seized.
The materials in charge of the above citizens were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance Gjirokastra, for the criminal offenses “Assistance in illegal border crossing”, committed in collaboration and “Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer.”
