The government will remove the fund of excellence for students who flee abroad and never return to their homeland, Prime Minister Edi Rama declared this Friday.
From the Agricultural University of Tirana, Rama said that the money will go to the 10 students who study and live in Albania. According to him, this will affect the growth of experts, increase the level of education in the country and will encourage young people not to leave the country.
“We will also invest from our income, we are preparing to move a fund of excellence from the payment of those who go abroad and do not return, will return to internal resources and are structuring a new policy that will support students with xixa and pedagogues, for studies, for masters with the condition to stay in Albania, a period of time and return the obligation, that the fund of excellence that today has enabled the graduation of 300 young Albanians is very significant and was created when it was created with the good wish that they return to the country and these young people who have received degrees in the most famous universities in that world to be ashamed that they have taken a commitment with their country, they have received money from their country, they have taken on the obligation to come back and bring knowledge here and meanwhile it has not happened. We will not continue those who leave not to return, but we will change the direction of this fund and the model we have in front of our eyes, we will finance it with our income, which means that we have 30 doctoral students at UBT, tomorrow we will have more.
Rama announced today that the Agricultural University of Kamza has expanded international cooperation. In cooperation with the German government, it launches a Doctoral program in Agriculture, Environment, Biotechnology, Agribusiness and Veterinary Medicine.
