Another shooting incident has shocked the US. Two people were killed and another injured after one person opened fire on a church in Alabama on Thursday evening.
Vestavia Hills Police Chief Shane Ware said officers responded quickly to calls for help at St Stephen Church, arresting the suspect immediately.
“From what we have gathered from the circumstances of this event, the suspect was alone and entered a church meeting and started firing.”
Ware did not identify the attacker and did not say whether investigators had determined a motive for the incident.
The United States is in the midst of a severe period of its own epidemic of gun violence. The most fatal case was the shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas that left 19 children and two teachers dead on May 24.
