Star-studded front rows, unusual stage designs and all the world’s cultural capital centered on a catwalk – Paris Fashion Week has always been a ‘haute couture’ theatrical celebration and the most unthinkable was expected from each participant .
But the pandemic has equaled its role in cultural events and fashion shows, as from next week Paris Fashion Week opens in mostly digital formats. Below we turn back to some of the most memorable moments of its history and style.
Paris Fashion Week started as a single event in 1973 on the occasion of the renovation of the Palace of Versailles.

The event was subsequently backed by well-known names like artist Andy Warhol and activist Josephine Baker, turning it into a fashion hub for decades, even though media attention fell.
