Ukrainian citizens fleeing the war in their home country can come to Albania and live for up to a year without a residence permit.
This decision was approved this Friday by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who is in charge of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs for its implementation.
So far, our country has welcomed several Ukrainian families. 351 Ukrainian citizens are in our country.
The day before, journalist Mikel Marsi interviewed two Ukrainian families who arrived from devastated Kharkiv to Vlora. They traveled to many places before finding peace and tranquility in the Albanian coastal city, which relatives who spent their vacations last summer had told them about.
Ivan Shevcenko says that he and his parents had to travel for about 5 days to escape the horrors of war and arrive in Vlora.
“We started the trip on March 5 and spent it in Hungary, Serbia and Macedonia, to arrive in Vlora, a place recommended by a friend who had previously been on vacation here.“, Says Ivan Shevcenko.
