In an interview with Serbian television Kurir, known as close to President Aleksandar Vucic, Darko Trifunovic, a professor of Security Sciences at Belgrade University, said that Ukrainian refugees settled in the Serbian capital have begun to flee to Albania. Reason? They feel safer in our country than in Serbia.
“I had the opportunity to talk to Ukrainian refugees here. It’s awful, they don’t feel safe here. Serbia is the only country in Europe where certain media outlets describe Russia’s war in Ukraine as reasonable. The moderator had intervened to soften his stance a bit and recalled how Serbia voted in favor of the resolution in the UN General Assembly, through which the Russian aggression in Ukraine was condemned. But Trifunovic continues on his own…
“I met people yesterday at a gas station; four cars with children, were with Ukrainian license plates. I approached and asked them where they were going. I was told that they are going to Albania because they do not feel safe in Serbia. This was very difficult for me. “This is happening thanks to our generals, our people… here is what they do”, said the professor. Serbia is the only country in Europe that has not imposed sanctions on Serbia, and in addition, rallies in support of Russia and Putin have been held in Belgrade.
