The new diesel-electric submarine is one of the few models adapted for Caliber high-precision missiles.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said the weapon was fired from an underwater position and accurately hit its coastal target several thousand miles away.<br \/>Developments come at a time when President Vladimir Putin has stated that Moscow is ready to take &#8220;military-technical&#8221; measures in response to the &#8220;unfriendly&#8221; actions of the West.<\/p>\n<p>For weeks, the Russian president has accused the United States and NATO of fomenting tensions near Russia&#8217;s borders, referring to Ukraine.
