The United States has tried to stop Russia from invading Ukraine, saying such a move would result in Western sanctions, increased NATO aid to Kiev, and the deployment of more forces near Moscow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the meeting would take place in Geneva next month.<\/p>\n
