With deep sadness I heard of David Sassoli&#8217;s early departure.  The charismatic President of the European Parliament, a passionate European, a typical Italian, a true admirer of Albania, and a dear friend!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>His generous legacy will remain!  Addio amico mio!<\/em>&#8220;, Writes Veliaj.<\/p>\n<p>During his visit to Tirana, in February 2020, Veliaj handed Sassol the &#8220;Key to Tirana&#8221;, as an early friend of Albanians and a supporter of our country&#8217;s European aspirations.<\/p>\n<p>The politician had been seriously ill for more than two weeks, canceling all activities.
