{"id":22139,"date":"2022-01-25T15:50:16","date_gmt":"2022-01-25T15:50:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imalbania.com\/kosova\/pfizer-biontech-launches-clinical-trials-on-omicron-vaccine\/"},"modified":"2022-01-25T15:50:16","modified_gmt":"2022-01-25T15:50:16","slug":"pfizer-biontech-launches-clinical-trials-on-omicron-vaccine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imalbania.com\/kosova\/pfizer-biontech-launches-clinical-trials-on-omicron-vaccine\/","title":{"rendered":"Pfizer-BioNTech launches clinical trials on Omicron vaccine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"firstP\">\n<p>The company BioNTech, founded by Turkish immigrants in Germany, together with its American partner Pfizer, announced the start of a clinical study &#8220;to assess the safety tolerance and immunogenicity of a candidate for the Omicron vaccine&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In a statement, the companies announced the launch of a clinical study saying it would be performed on &#8220;healthy adults aged 18 to 55&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Noting that the study will have &#8220;three groups reviewing different regimens of the current Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against COVID-19 or an Omicron-based vaccine&#8221;, the statement also states that the study is part of ongoing efforts to address Omicron and determine the potential need for vaccines based on this variant \u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The statement also included comments from Kathrin Jansen, Senior Vice President and Head of Vaccine Research and Development at Pfizer, who said: \u201cCurrent research and real-world data show that boosters continue to provide a high level of protection against &#8220;With Omicron hospitalization, we understand the need to prepare in the event that this protection fades over time and potentially help address Omicron and new variants in the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For his part, U\u011fur \u015eahin, CEO and co-founder of BioNTech, said that &#8220;vaccines continue to provide strong protection against serious diseases caused by Omicron.
