This is the story of a family from Farka of Tirana which for four generations, deals with pottery and clay products.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“I learned from my father, my father was taught by my grandfather and so for 4 generations we have worked clay pots and pans in Farka<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n The elders of Bashkim Plaku from Farka decided on his future. He, too, would shape the clay by removing the earthenware vessels from his hands.<\/p>\n To be a potter you have to have patience, as an earthen casserole requires 10 days of work. The potter says that the clay pots give a special flavor to the food. For this reason Union earthenware pans are sought after by housewives and premises across the country.<\/p>\n “<\/strong>We start with the raw material that is in Farka, which must be taken over half a meter underground, then we transport it and leave it in a container for 24 hours with water, then I work on that old machine and finally I give it form which must stand for weeks to dry until the baking process arrives<\/em>\u201d. <\/strong><\/p>\n Who buys these pans?<\/p>\n “In the beginning, only Central Albania wanted them, but now pans are required from Himara to Theth.”<\/p>\n Do you see it as a profession or a passion?<\/p>\n “I have not dreamed of any other job except this profession. “Clay is everything to me, I feel pleasure when I work with it, when I deal with it I forget everything”.<\/p>\n After much effort, Bashkimi managed to inherit this profession from his young son, but unlike his father, he wants to make modern clay pots.<\/p>\n \n<\/p>\n top channel
