Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered his military to deploy the country’s nuclear defense forces in a state of high alert in response to “aggressive statements” by NATO countries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The order, which was announced by the state-run Tass news agency, came during a meeting between Putin, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Russian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov.<\/p>\n
