The world’s largest plane reported to have been shot down by the Russian military during the campaign to invade Ukraine may still be intact, an expert said recently.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
But Paul Bryne, a professor of planetary science at the University of Washington, says the news may not be true.<\/p>\n
“Do not be convinced by the news about the An225 aircraft,” the expert wrote, publishing some recently published satellite images.<\/p>\n
“I superimposed this plan on what was supposed to be the visible tail of the plane, according to this image posted earlier on @CSBiggers,” he wrote.<\/p>\n
“Although there is a lot of damage to the hangar of the plane, most of his body is in the undamaged part of the shelter.”<\/p>\n
He added: “Of course we will not know until the real photos come out of the field, or if the surviving part will be more valuable for the flight.”<\/p>\n
“But it is also that most of the aircraft, at least structurally, is undamaged. “Or at least I hope so,” said the expert.<\/p>\n
Last week, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba shared an image of the plane, commenting that “the country will never surrender.”<\/p>\n
He said: “This is the largest aircraft in the world, AN-225 ‘Mriya’ (‘Dream’ in Ukrainian). Russia<\/strong><\/a> may have destroyed ‘Mriya’.<\/p>\n “But they will never destroy our dream of a strong, free and European state.
